The painting of Nature's Gap was created for the Missouri Department of Conservation in 2022. It depicts a unique outcropping of rocks along the Shoal Creek walking paths.This video shows both the painting process and it's challenging installation. Never thought I'd have to use a jackhammer to install a painting! This artwork is on permanent display at the Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center in Joplin. Missouri.
The Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center is a local connection to Missouri's fish, forests and wildlife. You can stop by the center to check out native plant landscaping, nature and wildlife exhibits or to hike the trails. You can also purchase a fishing or hunting permit, attend a nature program, or watch for wildlife along the trails and banks of Shoal Creek. Don't miss the gift shop where a poster of this painting is available to purchase.
The center is open Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. Closed Sunday, Monday and all state holidays.
