A Cyclone Prospective from the Heart of Columbia
Year: 2008
Medium: Acylic on Boards
Size: 60ft x 40"
This was the product of an Artist in Residency grant I received through the Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs and the Missouri Arts Council to work with 46 9th grade Introduction to Art students at Jefferson Junior High School taught by Diane Strotbeck. We decided to redo their entry way by painting 34 boards that depict the school and surrounding downtown Columbia area. The boards are placed in front of and behind one another by a couple of inches which helps to create depth. The project took two and half months and was designed by myself and executed with the help of the students.
